Funeral services for Barbara {Dolly} J. Marek, 93, of Lake Kiowa, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. R. Lee Walston. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services. Dolly passed away on Sat. Sept. 6th at her home with her 3 daughters by her side. Dolly was born on January 21, 1932 in Los Angeles to Helen C. Turner and Charles E. Turner. She married Henry John “Hank” Marek on April 20,1951 whom preceded her in death on October 22, 2017. They raised three girls Marcella “Marcy”, Charlotte “Char”, and Mary Jane and were owners of Aspen T.V. & Appliance in Aspen until 1972 when they moved to Texas to own and manage Big Mineral Camp on Lake Texoma. In 1984 they retired and then moved to Lake Kiowa in 1992 where they gained lots of friends and did a lot of golfing. She is survived by her three daughters, Marcella “Marcy” Titus and husband, Jay, Charlotte “Char” Gambill and husband, Chuck, and Mary Jane Marek; grandchildren, Christy Price, Lisha Walston and husband, Lee, Shelley Waller and husband, Josh, Michael Gambill, Amanda DeShazo and husband, Jeremy, Catherine Gibson and husband, Daniel; 11 great- grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Josh Waller, Brett Waller, Michael Gambill, Anthony Contreras, John Contreras and Chris Contreras.
