Cheryl Lynn Jones, 76, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to her eternal home on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Cheryl was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 26, 1948 to John Michael and Carolene Ann (Shipman) Brady. She graduated from Lompoc High School in California. Cheryl attended church and was a member of Shiloh Church in Tioga. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, riding side by side, and she was a fabulous cook. Cheryl loved her family and loved spending time with them. She is survived by her husband, Larry Jones of Whitesboro; son, Michael York and wife, Ruth Ann of Whitesboro; son, Lesley York and wife, Talitha of Whitesboro; son, Troy York and wife, Joy of Whitesboro; stepdaughter, Lorrie Kays and husband, Kash of Oklahoma; stepson, Darrel Jones and wife, Tetter of Whitesboro; stepson, Jason Jones of Dallas; grandchildren, Dianne, Travis, Morgan, Hagen, Kenneth, Coy, and Makayla, great-grandchildren, Emma, Isla, Raylan, and Greyson, sister, Denise Spruce and husband, Hank, sister, Mickey Stueck and husband, Jim as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, John and Carolene Brady, husband, Oscar York, and sister, Susan Detwiler. Pallbearers will be Johnny Mitcheson, Bob Hargesheimer, Richard Morris, Kevin Pelzel, Kyle Maynard, and Tom Harrington. Graveside services honoring Cheryl will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro. No formal visitation is scheduled.

  5. So very sorry for your loss. I know how much your Momma meant to each and every one of you boys. When I would see her out and about thru the years she lit up every time she talked about you. Y’all were very special to her and she was so proud.
