Forrest C. Martin, 75 of Sadler, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on July 25, 2025. He was born on December 31, 1949 in Annville, Pennsylvania to Levi and Frances Martin. Forrest loved riding his mules and enjoyed spending time with his dogs and cats and working with cattle. He was a farrier by trade and owned a saddle and tack repair business. Forrest is survived by his wife, Bonnie Martin of Sadler, Texas; son, Shaun Martin of Red Lion, Pennsylvania; stepdaughter, Christin Umsted of Southmayd, Texas; brothers, John Martin, Carroll Martin and Aaron Martin all of Annville, Pennsylvania. Forrest was a US Army Veteran who served in the National Guard of Pennsylvania for 13 years as a Sergeant E-5 with tank commander and military police assignments. He was preceded in death by parents, Levi and Frances Martin. The family would like to especially thank the Hospice Plus team and Cornerstone Caregiving in Sherman for their care, love, and support. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his honor to Noah’s Ark in Gainesville, Texas at noahsarktx.com. A celebration of life service will be planned at a later date.

  1. I will miss this guy. He always had a smile and a nice word to say. He fought a hard tough battle with a kind attitude. Forrest, I hope you find a mule in Heaven so you can keep riding❤️

  2. Forrest and I grew up as neighbors. Our family farm’s fields connected each other. He would ride his horse across the fields. He had 4-H projects and so did I. I have memories of Forrest always smiling and a friendly Hello.
