Jerry Wayne Ellis

Jerry Wayne Ellis, 85 of Gainesville, Texas passed away on January 15, 2026. He was born on February 10, 1940 in Leander, Texas to Elizabeth Josephine (Nichols) Ellis and George Wayne Ellis. Jerry made his career working for the Union Pacific Railroad. He also served his country in the United States Army. Jerry attended Lake Worth High School and received his GED from the United States Armed Forces Institute. While serving in the US Army he achieved the rank of Sgt. E5 and served in Iran after enlisting on January 10, 1962, and ending his service in 1968. Jerry loved to farm and ranch and above all his family. Jerry is survived by brothers, Larry Ellis of Granbury, Texas and Terry Ellis and wife, Jeanetta of Palestine, Texas; nieces and nephews, Randy Ellis, Greg Ellis, Jennifer Ellis, Sheri Pelton and Charlie Bell, also numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Meador Funeral Home Chapel.
