Marilyn Denice Kirby, 64, of Gordonville, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026. She was born on September 17, 1961, in Hereford, Texas, to Johnnie Talley and Joyce McDole. On September 17, 1997, she married the love of her life, Doug Kirby, in Gordonville.
Marilyn was a devoted Christian woman who found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She loved reading, cooking, and listening to music, especially classic rock, R&B, and old country songs. She also had a special place in her heart for her pets.
She is survived by her loving husband, Doug Kirby of Gordonville; son, Jason Olsson and wife, Theresa of Gainesville; son, Cody Kirby and wife, Alyssa of Aubrey; daughter, Jamie Kirby of Grapevine; daughter, Kelsie Lynn and husband, Jason of Sherman; her cherished grandchildren, Liam Lynn, Phoebe Lynn, and Clyde Kirby.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Talley and Joyce McDole, and her sister, Terrie Kirby.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Marilyn to Noah’s Ark 2501 N Weaver Street Gainesville, TX 76240.
Funeral services honoring Marilyn will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Gordonville. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
