Patricia Najda Mahon
April 28, 1941 ~ February 21, 2026
Dr. Patricia N. Mahon, RN, NP, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born on April 28, 1941, to Anthony Mahon and Ann Mikos, Patricia dedicated her life to learning, service, and compassionate care. She earned her Registered Nurse degree from the College of Saint Francis Xavier in 1962. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado in 1965 and later achieved her Doctor of Psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology, she was also an Associate of the sisters of Mercy of the America’s.
Dr. Mahon devoted many years to nursing education, teaching at Texas Woman’s University, where she inspired and mentored countless students. She later entered private practice, faithfully serving patients throughout the Texoma area with skill, dedication, and heartfelt compassion.
Outside of her professional life, Pat found great joy in world travel and was a passionate advocate for animal rights. She was an avid supporter of the Animal Rescue Foundation in Sadler, Texas, and a strong proponent of wind and solar energy. She enjoyed country living alongside her dear friend, Carolin Daner, where together they raised dairy goats and sheep on their beloved “Funny Farm,” a place filled with hard work, laughter, and treasured memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and her beloved friend, Carolin Daner.
She is survived by her cherished dog, Leo; her sister; and many dear friends and members of her church family who will deeply miss her wisdom, warmth, and generous spirit.
Dr. Mahon’s legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through her care, teaching, friendship, and faith.
