Sara Ann Hawkins
April 30, 1944 ~ February 11, 2026
Sara was born on April 30, 1944, in Hereford, Texas, to William Claude Hudspeth and Sarah Eleanor (Hudson) Hudspeth. She was a proud graduate of Hereford High School and built a respected career as a Payroll Specialist for Nurse Finders, Inc. Her professionalism and dedication to her field led her to serve as former president of the Texas Payroll Association, a role she held with great pride.
In 1986, Sara married Gary Hawkins in Athens, Texas. She enjoyed a full and creative life, finding happiness in woodcrafts, bowling, and watching rodeo. She was known for her strong work ethic, warm spirit, and love for her family.
She is survived by her son, Tim Matthews and husband, Steve Sprague; daughter, Deana Worth and husband, Bill; sister-in-law, Caren Hawkins; niece, Uschi Dimmitt and husband, Jason; granddaughter, Amanda Sprague Curless; family member, Nick Curless; great-grandchildren, Skyler Curless, Jackson Curless and wife, Aniya, and Brayden Curless; great-great-granddaughter, Legacii; and her beloved fur baby, Stella.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Hudspeth and William Hudspeth, husband, Gary Hawkins, son, Walter Matthews, daughter, Rhonda Matthews and brother-in-law, Dwyatt Hawkins Sr.. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.Sara will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.




I remember the first time I met her. I am proud to be part of the family she created.
She will be missed.
