November 13, 1954 ~ June 1, 2025

Jimmy Dwayne Mask, 70, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at Medical City of Denton. Born on November 13, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Guy Leon Mask Jr. and Mollie Francis Mask, Jimmy lived a life full of love, music, family, friends, and faith. Jimmy owned and operated Mask Repair Shop, an appliance repair shop, alongside his father for many years—a business built on trust, dedication, and pride in a job well done. His father was his best friend. Working together and, later, caring for his father, brought Jimmy great joy and fulfillment. Generous to a fault, he was always quick to lend a hand and would often give from his own possessions. Jimmy was a Christian believer whose faith guided him throughout his life, especially in his last months. Jimmy found joy in the sound of a well-played guitar, a good book, the tug of a fish on the line, and the regular visits with family and friends. A lifelong fan of rock ‘n’ roll from the 1960s through the 1980s, he didn’t just listen—he played. Jimmy was an accomplished guitarist. He also performed onstage in several theatrical productions at the Butterfield Stage in Gainesville. He loved to go camping, spend time with his daughter, who was his primary caregiver, and visit with friends and neighbors. Jimmy is survived by his loving daughter Shello Tabb and her husband Joseph; grandchildren Skyler Hayes, Jonathon Walton, and Alexis Mask; great-grandson Abel Hayes; sister Toni Morris; nieces and nephews, Cody Mask, Misty Madden, Shawna Creech, Adam Mask and Matthew Jarvis who will carry his memory with them always. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Reef Mask, daughter Covie Mask, his parents Guy Leon Mask Jr. and Mollie Mask, and his brother Ronald Mask. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
