Wilma Bernice Vail

Wilma Bernice Vail, 83, of Gordonville, Texas was called home to her heavenly father on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Wilma was born on January 19, 1942 in Collinsville, Texas to Marvin Austin and Norma Modell (Adams) Booker. She married William Belton Vail in Dallas on March 17, 1965. Wilma enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing and camping, as well as the cherished time spent with her family. She is survived by her son, Robert Childress and wife, Deana, daughter, Edwina Kay Turner, grandchildren, Armanda and husband, Robert, Joshua, Ethan, and partner, Mikayla, and Sydney, great-grandchildren, Noah, Courtnee, Desmond, and Julius, brother, Donald Booker and wife, Pia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Norma booker, husband, William Vail, daughter, Beverly Turner, and siblings, Linda and Lucille, and Wanneti. Funeral services honoring Wilma will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Collinsville. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday December 8th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
