Emma (Hartin) Voyles, 86, of Whitesboro, Texas went to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 22, 2026 to meet her soulmate.
Emma was born on November 16, 1939 to E/I. Hartin and Addie Leona (Duncan) Hartin in Madill, Oklahoma. She worked many different jobs and retired from WISD in 2018. Emma married James Voyles on May 1st, 1957 in Sherman, Texas and they had 3 children.
She is survived by her children, Patricia and Sam Thompson of Sayer, Oklahoma, Mary Lowrance of Denison, Texas and Ray and Tammy Voyles of Whitesboro, Texas. Her grandchildren, Bryan and Tina Schneider of Whitesboro, Texas, Shawn and Carrie Tatyrek of Yukon, Oklahoma, Jasper and Dawnita Voyles of Whitesboro, Texas, JD Voyles of Whitesboro, Texas, Amber and Andrew Brooke of Sherman, Texas, Allena Robertson of Colbert, Oklahoma, and Patricia Schneider of Crystal Beach, Texas, 23 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, James Voyles, parents, E.I. and Addie Hartin, bonus sister, Nadine Garrison, son-in-law, Kent Schneider, grandson, Trevor Tatyrek, and great-grandson, Casey Lowery.
Funeral services honoring Emma will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service time on Monday at the funeral home.

  1. I am so sorry to hear about Emma’s passing. I used to love it when she would come into the City Hall office to pay her bill. She was feisty and funny. I know she will be greatly missed by her family & friends. Praying God’s peace and comfort to all of you.
