Nathan Leonard Johnson “Nate”, 52, of Tioga, Texas, passed away on June 8, 2026.

Nathan was born on July 5, 1973, in Huntsville, Alabama, and was raised in Oklahoma. He graduated from MacArthur High School in Lawton, Oklahoma. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He later built a career as a truck driver, a profession that reflected his hardworking nature and independent spirit.

Nate was a proud member of American Legion Post 550 and had a lifelong passion for motorcycles. He enjoyed the freedom of the open road, whether behind the wheel of a truck or riding his bike. He was also an avid Oklahoma Sooners football fan and loved listening to 80s rock and country music.

Those who knew Nate will remember his sense of humor, his generous heart, and his remarkable ability to make anyone feel like someone he’d known for years. He was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need and could turn a stranger into a friend within minutes. His kindness, loyalty, and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Nate is survived by his daughter, Hannah Grace Johnson; his son, Chad Johnson, and daughter-in-law, Danielle Johnson; and his grandchildren, Avery Kay Johnson and Hadleigh Rae Johnson. He is also survived by his father, Nathan Leonard Tate; his mother, Rita Elizabeth Johnson; his sister, Beth Byrd; his brother, Johnathan Ray Johnson; his sister-in-law, Meredith Johnson; his nephew, Cooper Johnson; and his niece, Harper Johnson, along with numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ernest C. Johnson; his grandmothers, Mary L. Johnson and Nancy W. Brand; his stepmother, Linda Tate; and his nephew, Landon Johnson.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Nate’s life during a visitation at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas.

Though his ride ended too soon, Nate’s memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
