Born in: Healdton, OK
Resided in: Krum, TX

Jerry Wayne Love passed away peacfully at his home on September 29, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born on October 3, 1947, in Healdton, Oklahoma. He was raised in and around Tishomingo and Ravia, Oklahoma, and later served in the United States Marine Corps. Semper Fi.

After his time in the Marines, Jerry settled in Wichita Falls where he was a draftsman for the city.  Then to Tom Bean, and Denison before eventually settling in Whitesboro, where he had been a resident since 1987.

Daddy Married Sheri Ann Love September 9, 1983.

Some of Jerry’s best friendships were formed while he was renting the old house on Charter Street. In 1995, he purchased the family home on White Street, a place he cherished deeply. He took great pride in his property, especially the St. Augustine grass, which he mowed faithfully. One of Renita’s favorite memories is mowing alongside her dad.

Many people may remember Jerry at EZ Mart between 3:00 and 5:00 in the morning, drinking coffee and visiting with those around him.

Jerry worked hard throughout his life and eventually retired as the Maintenance Manager for Lake Kiowa. He was a protector, a provider, and someone who could always be counted on.

Jerry renewed his faith in Jesus Christ, and that faith became an important part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alphus Love; his mother, Pearlie Love; his sisters Zelvia Bell Love and Etta Mae Love, his son, Phillip Neal Love; his dear friend Jim Duncan, whom he met during his years on Charter Street; and his cousin and “ride-or-die,” Tony Dewberry.

He is survived by his wife, Sheri Ann Love; his daughters, Amy Love, Zaundria Love, Geneva Love, Tracey Love, Amanda Love, and Renita Love Murphy; his son, Chad Wilson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

  14. I met Jerry at Pearlie’s burial in Madill. I have a picture of him and other sisters. I was Zelvia Bell’s oldest daughter of 4 children. We were foster children and later adopted. Tom and I were placed together and Jeannie and Bonnie placed together. We grew up in Altus and even though not in same family knew each other. So much more to our story. I wanted to visit Jerry but time didn’t allow it. We kept in touch through FB. To me Tom, favored Jerry. He seemed like a very wonderful man. His obituary is a statement of how wonderful and caring he was. Rest in peace Jerry. Prayers for his family in their journey to healing. Blessings to and for his family.

  15. Scheila Scheller Burden says:

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Scheila Scheller Burden.

  16. Wow, there is so much more to him than just that that’s only a part of his life. Papa was one of the best men I knew he taught me a lie. I remember always going on rides with him on the back roads that was some of the best memories. He always asked me if I needed to pee and I’d say no and he said we’ll get out and get me a beer. 😂 he taught me how to face and I always remember saying be quiet he was an intimidating man to grown men even mostly son-in-law‘s. He kept him in their place and treating his daughters right or tried to. He loved his family very much and would do anything for any of us. I love you Papa you will be truly missed.

  17. Our heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

  18. Jerry you are the light of my life always by my side my heart aches for you but I hold your love in my heart and will never let it go rest high on that mountain and I will see you again I Love you sweetheart

  19. Jerry Wayne Love, who I called daddy, was the most honorable man I ever knew. He filled a void in my heart and I was proud to have him as a dad! He was a meticulous man, he kept everything in order and took the time to catalog a lot of important information. That inspired the way my wife Renita Love Murphy does things still to this day, a lot of her accomplishments I believe derived from how organized of a man daddy was. Jerry had a long and wonderful life being married to mom for 43 years; that’s something to be proud of. Through mine and Nita’s marriage, I could always call momma and daddy and they would listen with patient ears and give great wisdom to the situation. That means a lot when you don’t have anyone else to call, so I bid daddy a great farewell and great peace now that he’s in Jesus loving arms! Amen. He will be missed each and every day!!!!

  20. There are so many things that I would like to say, but to break it down you are my Pong A Pong A and I love everything about you. You taught me a lot of things in my life. So here I am lighting a candle for you and forever in my heart you will be. Now you will definitely know more about all of us than you did just drinking coffee in the morning at the EZ Mart. Fly high papa. Until we meet again.
