Gail Lynn Estes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, boundless love, and a life devoted to serving others. Gail was a woman whose joy was contagious, whose laughter filled a room, and whose heart always had room for one more person to love.

Born on July 4, 1955, Gail grew up in Farmers Branch, Texas, surrounded by a loving family. It was during her high school years that she met Landy Guy Estes, who would become her husband, lifelong best friend, and partner through every season of life. Their relationship began with friendship and the occasional date when they needed one, but grew into a lasting love and a life built together.
Gail attended Richland Community College, where she earned her associate degree before beginning a career in insurance. For 45 years, she excelled in her field, demonstrating dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to doing things well. Yet, as accomplished as she was professionally, her greatest investment was always in the people she loved.

Above all else, Gail treasured her family. She loved her husband, Landy, with her whole heart and poured that same love into her daughters, Erica Lynn Bohls and Stacy Lee Estes, and her three grandchildren, Hayden, Haylee, and Emma. She had a special way of making sure everyone was taken care of, often putting the needs of others before her own. Her family was her greatest joy, and she never needed a special occasion to show them how much they meant to her.

Some of Gail’s happiest moments were spent outdoors with the people she loved. She cherished time on the beach with a good book and a cold drink in hand, endless days on the lake, family camping trips, and any opportunity to gather everyone together. Whether on the water, around a campsite, or simply enjoying time with her loved ones, Gail understood that life’s sweetest moments were often the simplest ones.

Above all, Gail was a godly wife, mother, and friend. Her faith in Jesus was a steady foundation through every season of life. She faced challenges with bold faith, a witty attitude, and a joy that surpassed all understanding. Even in difficult circumstances, she carried herself with a strength rooted in her faith and a spirit that continued to shine. She possessed a true servant’s heart, always looking for ways to care for others and
make them feel loved. Her beautiful smile and unmistakable, full-hearted laugh were gifts she freely gave to everyone around her.

Gail is preceded in death by her mother, Dortha Lee Stanbery, and her father, Eugene Lloyd Stanbery.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Landy Guy Estes; her daughters, Erica Lynn Bohls and Stacy Lee Estes; her son-in-law, David Robert Bohls, husband of Erica; her beloved grandchildren, Hayden, Haylee, and Emma; her brother, Les Stanbery; her sister-in-law, Karin Stanbery; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will continue to carry her love and memory forward.
Though her family and friends will deeply miss her presence, Gail’s legacy lives on in the faith she demonstrated, the love she gave so freely, the lives she touched, and the memories that will forever bring smiles through tears. Her life was a beautiful reminder that loving others well is one of the greatest ways to reflect the heart of Jesus.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Valley Creek Church in Gainesville, Texas, located at 201 N. Culberson Street, Gainesville, TX 76240.

Gail’s favorite Bible verse was Jeremiah 33:3: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” These words reflect the faith she carried throughout her life and the trust she placed in the Lord through every season. Though her family and friends will deeply miss her laughter, her generous heart, and the joy she brought into their lives, they find comfort in the hope of Jesus and the promise of His faithfulness. Gail leaves behind a legacy of love, steadfast faith, and a life that reflects the heart of Christ. She will forever be cherished by those blessed enough to know and love her.

In keeping with Gail’s wishes, the family welcomes those who feel led to offer financial support in lieu of flowers. As we navigate life without her, there are still outstanding medical expenses from her illness, and our family is adjusting to the loss of a significant portion of our household income. Any contribution, no matter the amount, would be a meaningful blessing to our family during this difficult season.

For those who would like to help, donations may be sent via Venmo to Stacy Estes at @Stacy-Estes. We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and generosity that have surrounded our family, and we know Gail would be touched by the kindness shown to those she loved most.
