Joyce Yvonne Trimble

Joyce Yvonne Trimble, 90, of Gainesville, Texas passed on to her heavenly home Saturday, August 1, 2026 at her home and surrounded by her family.  Honoring her wishes, there will not be a public service but a private family gathering.

Joy was born August 21, 1935 in Walters, Oklahoma to Madalene (Roberts) Gay and Orval Gay.  She graduated from Kress Texas High School in 1952.  She married Homer Lindeman on December 25, 1952 and they moved to Friona, Texas to raise their family.  They welcomed three children, Rusty, Connie and Ted.  After her children were older Joy attended West Texas State University and received her degree in Education and started a 28 year long career in teaching in the Friona, Texas and Bovina, Texas school districts.  She was blessed with a bounty of creativity and always had new projects to pursue.  She was a very talented seamstress and spent hours making garments, home décor, baby clothing and dozens of beautiful quilts.  Joy also enjoyed reading and painting.

On July 15, 1980 Joy married C. E. Trimble from Bovina, Texas and was blessed to expand her family with C. E.’s three children, Christie, Cathie and Charlie.  C. E. and Joy enjoyed being active in the community and were members of the Bovina Methodist Church.  Joy also enjoyed attending Bovina Senior Citizens, the Retired Teachers Association and her beloved quilting group with treasured friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, C. E. Trimble, two sisters, Sherly Long and Rhodene Frederick and one brother, Donny Gay and by her cherished firstborn grandson, Bev Russell Lindeman.

Those to carry on her legacy are her children, Rusty (Lea) Lindeman of Dhanis, Texas, Connie (Teddy) King of Gainesville, Texas and Ted (Joan) Lindeman of Dhanis, Texas.  Also 5 grandchildren including Brandy Lindeman Redden, Becky Lindeman Santos, Jenny King Grandi, Jessica King Crawford and Tyson Lindeman and 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving her are C. E.’s children, Christie (Robert) Ferkin of Surprise, AZ, Cathie (K.W.) Sharp of Lubbock, TX and Charlie (Ginger) Trimble of Muleshoe, TX.  Also C.E.’s 7 grandchildren, Jason Sharp, Lauren Sharp Clem, Caitlyn Sharp, Emily Dalton, Regan Edwards, Charlie May Trimble and Jarryd Ferkin, also 6 great-grandchildren.
