Grady Jeffery Carney, 63, of Collinsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, in Gainesville, Texas.

Grady was born on December 5, 1962, in Sherman, Texas, to Clifford Carney and Marcia Wickham. He grew up in Collinsville and graduated from Collinsville High School, where he built lifelong friendships and fond memories.

He dedicated much of his life to serving others. Grady devoted 23 years to the Collinsville Volunteer Fire Department, where his courage and commitment touched many lives. He also served on the Collinsville City Council, helping shape the community he loved. A faithful member of the Collinsville Church of Christ, Grady was guided by his strong values, generosity, and caring heart.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Donna Carney; his father, Clifford Carney; his brother Davis Carney; aunt Mary Swindle; uncle Richard Carney and wife Betty; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who cherished him. Grady was preceded in death by his mother, Marcia Wickham; step-father Dwayne Wickham; and step-mother Jo Carney.

Visitation for Grady will be held at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Whitesboro on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday immediately following the visitation beginning at 11:00 AM Ricky Patterson officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Collinsville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Collinsville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O Box 557, Collinsville, Texas to honor Grady’s lifelong commitment to community service.

Grady will be remembered for his faithful service, his love for family and community, and the positive difference he made in the lives of others.
