Loretta Belle Thompson, 82 of Thackerville, Oklahoma passed away on September 28, 2026. She was born on November 11, 1943 in Tioga, Texas to Dave Harris Kays and Opal Olean Thompson. Loretta married Donald Thompson in Sivells Bend on July 11, 1959. They were blessed with sixty-seven years of marriage, a time they invested in love and hard work, building a life and family together on their southern Oklahoma farm. Loretta never avoided hard work, valuing honesty, dependability, and dedication. Her work ethic was undeniable as a mom and wife of the home, as a helper to Donald on the farm, and as an Assembler at Weber Aircraft in Gainesville, TX, where she retired after 30 years of employment.
Loretta was quiet and soft-spoken, but she could “get tickled” at a story and sure enjoy a good laugh with friends or family. Phone conversations were rarely short because her love and care for you were so genuine. As a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was a natural caregiver who never asked for anything in return, other than to make sure we knew when to be at her house for holiday meals. Everyone in the family had a favorite homemade cream pie, chess pie, cake or cobbler, so understandably, she always baked too many desserts for our family gatherings! She enjoyed the simple comforts of home, whether she was in the house cooking or sitting on the back porch on a summer evening, but one place she always loved to visit with Donald and the grandkids was Branson, Missouri. There was something special about the family-oriented atmosphere and country gospel shows that Branson had to offer, along with the sound of grandkids begging to play mini golf, go swimming, and spend all their money at the dollar store!
Loretta lived a life of contentment, not because of her hard work or efforts, but because of what Jesus did for her. Loretta’s faith in Jesus was the very foundation of who she was and how she lived, and today, we have assurance in knowing she is with our Heavenly Father.
Loretta is survived by her loving husband, Donald Thompson of Thackerville, Oklahoma; son, Randy Thompson and wife, Mary of Thackerville, Oklahoma; daughter, Diane Gary and husband, Roger of Ardmore, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Danielle Brown and husband, Larry; Wade Thompson and wife, Shelby;and Zach Thompson and wife Shandy; great-grandchildren, Kate Brown, Wyatt Thompson, BrateThompson, Beau Thompson, Boone Thompson, Tate Thompson and Sutton Thompson; Chris Parr, Aaron Parr, Cody Brown and Lauren Hutchinson, also several nieces and nephews.
Loretta is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and grandson, Clint Thompson.

To the Thompson family I’m so sorry for your loss of this wonderful lady.
Prayers for peace and comfort for all.
I worked with and around Loretta at Weber/Zodiac. She was the sweetest woman with so much love radiating from her. She will be missing terribly.
